Auckland is a real cultural mix with strong Asian, European, Maori and Polynesian influences, celebrated in frequent festivals and sporting events. Some examples of these cultures can be seen at the Auckland War Memorial Museum, one of the best in New Zealand. For more, try the upmarket dining of the Viaduct Harbour.
Another must-see is the tallest free-standing tower in the Southern Hemisphere, the Sky Tower. If you’re feeling up to the challenge, you can even perform the Sky Jump, a controlled base jump from 192 metres!
Climbing the volcanic cones as well as the stunning Auckland Harbour Bridge will provide unforgettable, panoramic views of the city’s skyline. For a different perspective, why not try a cruise or sea kayaking?

Dining excellent and service impeccable at new Queens restaurant at 1 Queen Street. Location of accommodation excellent and walking to appointment within range, however to get anywhere else, using Uber is a great way to travel given the traffic woes and changes in traffic flow layout since last visiting Auckland.

We were in Auckland for our daughter's Master's Graduation Ceremony so didn't really explore Auckland too much on this visit.
However the harbour area is pleasant for a walk and the new Commercial Bay Shopping Centre is of a very high standard and looks really impressive. There are many eateries in there, in addition to many high end shops.

Travel from airport is awful.
Travel from airport is awful. It has never been brilliant but is certainly much worse. Taxi drivers were just not interested in taking us to Pakuranga. This is 3rd world level.
Down town Auckland is slowly getting back on its feet. It should develop it uniqueness.
The easy parking is a big bonus here compared to other cbd hotels. The rooms with balconies are best. They have a bit more room and you can open the windows/door and have fresh air. The hotel is in a leafy suburb so you're not surrounded by the noise of high rise buildings in the concrete jungle. There's a few good restaurants within easy walking distance and the Domain, which is just a jewel in the Auckland CBD landscape. If you get a room on level 3 or 4 there is a lovely view over the harbour as well.
Close to South Auckland and the Airport with generous parking. On site restaurant is good but with a limited menu options if you're staying for more than a few days. There is one local Indian takeaway otherwise have it delivered. The Yellow bus works well also as does the lounge display of flight status at Auckland Airport. It must be OK as this was my 4th visit. Beds were generous and crispy. Shower was large and hot. WIFI was fast enough for CAD files.
Nice hotel, friendly staff, lovely very acceptable rooms. Accomodating and stress free. Trustworthy, and very clean. Big difference from another motel I stayed at near Auckland airport. Prefer comfort, safety, cleanliness and a professional attitude over price.
The shuttle bus ran quite frequently and was very convenient and you could book it to take you to the airport at any time convenient for your flight (not like cheaper places (another story))
Fancy hotel without charging the extra cost for the design.
Confortable public places with a lot of amenities useful for budget travelers.
Location is amazing. Ok, not in the exact heart of Auckland but pretty close, so don't pay the extra value to be exactly there.
Ok, my room didn't had a window but that's why I was paying a very affordable price for the basic necessities, no need more for a couple of days in the city.
Well appointed suite with kitchen, laundry room, and a balcony. We deliberately chose to stay away from the city center knowing we could take the ferry into Auckland which we did without much hassle, however I would likely stay in the city center for a future stay. The vicinity of the hotel features multiple shops - Big shoutout for Wild Wheat were I enjoyed the most delicious lamb pie I have ever savored!
This a gem of a location to stay in Auckland. Easy access secure garage parking. Absolutely clean. Comfortable furnishings. More than we needed for space, but price and location were excellent. Amazing views of the harbor and city. Safe keycard access. Numerous restaurants and shops nearby. Host communicated well and helped with questions promptly. Would definitely stay here again.
We've been staying here for 23 years. The property is located close to town. The bed is comfortable and we always get a room with a view. The room is larger than similarly priced rooms in Auckland CBD. Breakfast is generous. Price is cheap for what you get.Free parking too. I don't like city driving so the bus being only $1.10 to town from right outside the driveway is fab. $8 for an uber.
The property was located within walking distance of the airport. There is also a shuttle with a fee. The staff is very helpful and there is A/C in the rooms. There are some nice restaurants within walking distance and a Countdown grocery store next door. There is chilled, filtered water in the lobby as well as an espresso machine. We took an Uber to Auckland’s CBD at night.
Excellent location; quiet, nearly soundproof rooms; convenient restaurant and bar; modern and well-maintained. Special kudos to Valentine, the barman, for his expertise, professionalism, and friendly manner. For an overnight stay at the Auckland Airport before moving on to another destination, this hotel can't be beat!
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff are lovely and so helpful. The room was a great size with fantastic city views over Auckland CBD. The bed and pillows were so comfy and the bathroom was great. The location is 5-10 minutes walk to the sky tower and good restaurants.
We would definitely recommend this place, people at the reception desk are very nice and helpful, we were even upgraded for free to better room with balcony and view to the SkyCity tover. The room were nice and clean. The hotel is walking distance to all downtown Auckland happenings.
The lock box was well located. Comfortable stay and location is great, close to airport. 30 min drive to Auckland CBD during off peak timings. Getting in & out of the motorway is very easy. Wifi worked well. Overall, a good experience.
This is a good location providing airport transport for when you have to stay overnight in Auckland. A good tidy budget transit hotel. There were rooms with King size beds which was nice to have this option.
Stayed for one night, parked in attached garage and left early in am for the airport. Pool was nice and empty when we had a swim, location was an easy walk from the rest of Auckland CBD so easy to get around.
Yucca Home is very clean and minimalist, access works well, great wifi and the hosts communications are 1st rate. I would happily stay here again if I need a budget place to lay my head near Auckland Airport.
Good range of facilities, not too far from the airport - which was useful for us to catch an international flight in the morning and only averagely expensive compared to other Auckland hotels.
Very close to the airport, Auckland CBD .
The free shuttle from the airport was a bonus. This hotel gives you a resort like feel . Landscape around the swimming pool is a delightful view .
Kudos to the lovely and helpful front desk staff. Great location: eateries, chemist, SkyDrive airport bus stop, art gallery and University of Auckland are within walking distance. Quiet.
Hotel is close to Auckland airport and offers a free shuttle service. The staff were helpful and there was free parking. It is fine for a one night stay prior to a flight.
Great budget hotel for our overnight stay at Auckland Airport after arriving too late for domestic connection. Fantastic cafe/bar right next door serving awesome food.
